Making Dreams Come True

 Dear Friends,

We hope all is well with you and yours. We have now settled into our life here in Cambodia and have been busy visiting K.I.D.S. programs. As many of you know, one of our main focuses is education. Visiting the K.I.D.S. education programs is very uplifting. It is great to see the students having after-school tutoring and English programs, they are so happy and love to learn.

One of our programs is "The Farm School" which now has about 60 kids that come every day to study under the teacher's house in the village after school.

There they can play, eat a decent meal and learn English. We had a great time at "The Farm School" playing and hearing the students tell us what their future hopes and dreams are.

We also were happy to meet with and register young people that have graduated from our Smart Kids Program and are now attending university, accounting colleges and different training programs, such as IT, electrical, air conditioning and hospitality.

We were happy to provide them with laptop computers (which are much cheaper here than in Canada), so they can do their assignments and research. Where once these young people would have dropped out of school at a very young age, to work, in factories, farming or other labouring jobs they are now able to continue their education thanks to K.I.D.S. sponsorships and not only change their lives but also improve the lives of their families and future generations.

At this time of year when many people are gathering with family to celebrate Christmas and to be grateful for what they have, these young people are hugely grateful for this opportunity, and it is inspiring to see them going from child labourers to engineers, electricians, hotel managers, teachers and living healthy and happy lives.
